Leticia Bendelac

Gender Expert


Dr Leticia Bendelac is a gender expert with more than 10 years working in international cooperation with a specialisation in gender and development, monitoring and evaluation, policy-oriented research, and capacity building. Her main areas of expertise are: Women, Peace and Security, gender based violence and humanitarian response, gender equality and gender mainstreaming, and social research methodology. As international consultant based in Brussels, Leticia has been member of the technical team recruited by DG-ECHO in charge of the 2017 Progress Report of the Road Map of the Call to Action on Protection from Gender-based Violence in Emergencies 2016-2020. Since 2017, she is working for the Association of European Border Regions (AEBR) in Jerusalem as a gender expert in cross-border cooperation for women’s participation in peace building.
Dr Bendelac is Associate Researcher and Head of the Gender and Development Unit at the University Institute for Development and Cooperation of the University Complutense of Madrid (IUDC-UCM). Since 2011, Leticia has been teaching in the MA in International Cooperation of the University Complutense of Madrid. She has also trained service staff of Latin American administrations (El Salvador and Peru).
